Is A Juice Detox or Cleanse All It’s Cracked Up To Be?
What about juicing vs. fasting?
Look, we know you’ve heard from all coroners of the internet about people juicing in order to lose weight and wipe away all of their "bad decisions" in one fail swoop.
But is it really doing everything you hope it is? Unfortunately, the answer is no.
There are many drawbacks to going on an intensely restrictive juice cleanse. The vast majority of juice cleanses have way too much sugar so in an attempt to “cleanse” or “detox”, you end up adding in additional sugars, potential toxins and a surge of anti-nutrients (plant’s defense mechanism) to an already compromised system. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not villanizing juicing, but there is a time and a place to get the benefits from the plethora of micronutrients you get the right quality juices… and this is not it.
Ok so now we know what not to do, where do we go from here?
Like always, we’re not talking about how amazing it would be to be average. We are here to have a better human existence! This begins with the proper information to pair with your current goals.

The key here is - we are not talking about abundance. We are talking about absence to make your health grow fonder. We are talking about addition through subtraction. We are talking about fasting. “Fast” … ooooh…. the scary four letter word that has so many of you spooked and clinging tighter to your fork than your grubby little fingers have ever held on before!
Well, because the first thing we were taught was that hunger was bad. We were taught that our bodies had to have food constantly for us to be healthy and lose weight. And the moment you associate fasting with starvation, you lose the ability to even comprehend that there not only could be a better way, but there is one that every single one of you have access to - no matter what your income level or your status in life, geographic region or anything else that can be limiting.
If you are looking for a quick way to clean up your body, lose some weight and feel better every day, then fasting may just be your best choice for supercharging your body. I know it goes against traditional thinking but I tell you this because it is a tool I personally have had not only significant, but transformative success with.
One of the most significant benefits of a fast of 24hrs or more is cellular autophagy. This is in essence a detox at the cellular level. If you want to make yourself stronger, why not do it at a cellular level?
Fasting is an incredible tool to have in your health and wellness arsenal, but as with everything else - it alone is not enough. A healthy nutrient dense diet paired with a healthy lifestyle will kick your results and life into overdrive.
